Do You Want To Make Money Blogging And Selling Affiliate Products? Read My Important Three Tips

Many people utilize blogging as a way to make money. The idea is to start a niche blog, write good content about that niche, and then promote affiliate products through ads or through blog posts. The idea is that people searching in that particular niche will find your blog, read it, and then click on the affiliate links and buy the affiliate products for which the blogger will receive a commission.

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

With that being said, here are three subtle tactics that help improve conversions and sales with affiliate marketers today.

What are these three tips?

1. Isolate each product with its own unique online presence.

That means at a minimum a unique blog post for each product. Depending on the product and niche you may want to dedicate an entire blog to the one product as well. It is best to have a site or at the very least a blog post focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

2. Give up something free, such as a free report in order to obtain “recyclable” traffic.

Make the “opt-in” box or giveaway logo very easy to catch. The top-left is a good place for example since that is how people normally read: top to bottom, right to left. Studies show that sales often take place on following contacts, not the initial contact. This report will help you with this.

You can place your ads in this freebie report as one way to recycle traffic. The other is to ask your prospects to join your mailing list to obtain the free report.

Listbuilding means you ask for the prospect’s email address and in return provide them with a free report. At this point any time you email the prospect you are “recycling” your traffic. To go along with the statistics, the seventh time you contact them advertising a product they will buy.

Placing advertisements in your free information, such as at the end of your free ebook, is another way to “recycle” traffic. When someone rereads your report, that counts as an “additional” contact towards a possible sale. Furthermore, if your report is given out to others by that person, that is new traffic as well.

3. Targeted traffic will convert better than non-targeted traffic.

Think about conversion rates. If your site is about dog training, who is more likely to buy, someone looking for dog training or someone looking for stereo systems? You want to attract the traffic that is looking for your site. That is what is meant by targeted traffic.

There are four main ways to attract targeted traffic. Though each of these can be written about in a separate article, here are the salient points: blog networking, forum networking, social network networking, and article marketing.

With blog networking, you can search out blogs related to your niche and comment on various blog entries or even email the blog owner to see if you can write a guest entry for that person‘s blog.

Forum networking is exactly what it sounds like. Join forums related to your niche and be an active participant. You need to make sure to join a forum that gets a lot of traffic and also allows you to put links in your signature and in your profile.

For social networking, that simply involves joining one or more social network sites, such as Facebook, and join groups related to your website and be an active participant.

Finally, for article marketing you can write a number of articles and then publish them within your niche on various article directories. Aim for two articles a week. You can also rewrite them and publish them on your blog as well so your blog continues to stay updated.

Statistics dictate you will make a sale about 1% of the time. That’s a conversion rate of 1 out of 100. To increase these rates, you want to in crease traffic. In this article we’ve talked about ways to recycle traffic as a way to increase traffic. We also talked about getting targeted traffic in an effort to increase conversions.

These tactics above are not difficult. They are just time consuming. It requires time and action on your part to put all of these into play. When you do these tactics, you will put yourself in a better position for creating a good source of online income.

Best of luck!
