While working hard in the garden, a person sometimes wishes to take a break from gardening activities and spend time looking at their handiwork. If there is seating wisely scattered around at strategic places, gardeners may be able to break away for a few minutes of rest now and then.
Sitting in a favorite chair or on a garden bench placed under a tall flowering tree, one may experience the shower of petals when they begin to rain down upon you and the ground. children would run around in it, for sure.
Patio tables with umbrellas are nice too. They can provide the needed relaxation in the shade and you can tilt the canvas as the sun changes position. This may or may not be near the garden, but if it is not, there are many other types of tables with benches or chairs that can be placed where it is convenient for indulging in a beverage or snack.
Pools could be considered a piece of furniture, with a big stretch of the imagination. If they keep one outside, observing the work that needs to be done, it could be considered part of the furnishings. Lounge chairs dotted about the pool, whatever its size and shape, will give ample viewing of the garden and surrounding areas.
Another of the convenient spots to escape away to, out of the sun, is a screen tent. From this spot, the entire landscape may be viewed. Most of the biting bugs will be kept out so small children might find this a nice place to play while outdoors. Dining can be experienced in here as well, as can just sitting around with friends in the evening. If the entire frame on which the tent is secured is staked down tight, it should remain standing until it is removed in the late fall.
Lightweight netting can be used successfully to keep pesky birds and other small creatures from destroying the fruit crops. Just as they start ripening, toss the net over, secure it from blowing wind, and reap the rewards before the birds do. Berry plants can benefit from this treatment also. This is not furniture, as spoken of before, but a great tool for the gardener to employ.
Fencing in the landscape design could serve as a visual end to the garden or even to cover up some of a not-so-attractive parts of gardening activities. They are also barriers to keep out children, pets or unwanted visitors. The day-to-day work of keeping a yard in bloom and free of clutter is often hidden behind this fencing.
