Those of you who’ve read my posts before realize that I’m a big fan of flash games, and more than once I have rated different flash games and talked about which ones are the best flash games and which are the worst. It is about time I went into detail about my favorite games in each gaming category. Strategy games are my favorite, here are a few of the ones I can’t get enough of.
Phage wars. I don’t have very much to say about this one other than that this is seriously one of the best flash strategy games I’ve ever played. It is really not an incredibly complex game, you play a species a bacteria or possibly a virus (not certain which), which is trying to clear away all of the other viruses in a strategic way. You could increase in population by taking over cells, get a huge enough number of bacteria and you can win the game. Simple yet addicting, the weaker the bacteria you choose, the more complicated beating all of the stages becomes.
I think some of the top flash games out there are tower defense games, and as far as tower defense (TD games are a sub category of strategy games, for all those of you who are concerned) games go Gemcraft is very famous. Gemcraft is the perfect example of a TD game that all TD games aspire to be. The basic concept is the same as any TD game, you try and stop incoming monsters by using your towers. The only twist is, in this game you get to mix various kinds of gems to create endless combinations of towers and their abilities. A must for all strategy game lovers.
Now if you say you’re a flash gamer and have never heard of Sonny, then you must seriously revaluate how you have been spending your online gaming time. Sonny 2 is a definite favorite in the strategy flash games world. Sonny 2 is another turn based fighting game but uniquely dark story and an addicting gameplay. After a small tutorial at the start of the story, you get to decide on your class, items and basic skills. From then on you’re going to go on a variety of battles of your choice, for gaining experience, gold and loot. Several of these battles will be a part of the story and some won’t, but all of them will certainly be exciting.
The gold you win from these battles becomes really useful when buying items in the shop, because without effectively equipping your character, beating this game is impossible. What I like about the shop is the fact that the items it has are always changing, so you better check it out every level. Sonny 2 has story, awesome game play and great graphics and with a huge ability tree and loads of weapons and classes this game is bound to keep you reeled in for a while.
